Montrose Meeting Notes 3/22/2018

Here’s a re-cap of what we went over on Thursday’s meeting:

 

• Montrose is now included on the HPL website as a location that has Hotspots. Alex has created a procedure for putting them on hold. It is located at each service desk.
• Open Enrollment for insurance begins April 1^st and will go thru April 13^th.
• The City of Houston has a new notification system for emergencies, etc. To opt in, log into ESS (https://portal.houstontx.gov) and then click on Employee Self Service on the top left-hand side.  Click on the ‘add’ button under Communication to add your cell phone and/or personal email address.
• Please remember to mark down stats. This is part of the Unified Service Smart Goal.
• There is now a Meyer Mini location. There was an email that went out about this.
• Robinson will reopen on 4/28. Scenic Woods will reopen as a joint library/TechLink on 5/19.
• The One Houston One Library presentation is now on the Intranet. https://houstonlibrary.libguides.com/c.php?g=816979
• IT will be doing updates for the laptops the second Thursday of every month.  On this day (next one is 4/12), the laptops will need to be turned on and kept plugged in overnight.  The next morning, please make sure the laptops are returned to the cart. Laptop set up will be scheduled the afternoon/evening of 4/12 and the morning of 4/13.
• Kay is working on a Kitten Season display.
• Alex reminded us not to override the limit of items that a person can check out.
• Tasha reminded us to try to complete the paging list each day. If it’s not completed, it rolls to the next day and makes that list longer.
• We will be spending some of our Staff Appreciation money next Thursday. Melissa will order a variety of meat from Brookstreet BBQ. Staff will bring some sort of side dish. We’ll eat during our meeting.
• Courtnie –
• MNT has CMH passes and they are good until the end of April.
• People must have the yellow bag in order to return a kit.
• Storytime cancellations – we’re going to look into a method to notify customers if there is a cancellation. One suggestion is the Remind Me app that schools currently use.
• Courtnie thanked everyone who’s been helping with the shelving in the kids area.
• She attended the Camp Stream meeting. MNT’s Camp Stream will be July 31^st thru Aug 2 from 8:30am-12:30pm. We will need help with registration as the kids show up in the morning. We’ll also need help handing out breakfast and lunch to the kids.
