Montrose Meeting Notes 8/9/2108

 Here’s a re-cap of what we went over on Thursday’s meeting:

• HEAR reviews have been released. Please log into TMS https://talent.houstontx.gov/Saba/Web/COH to view and sign your review. Melissa will meet with each of you.
• Melissa is in the process of updating schedules in Kronos. Please let her know if you discover any errors.
• The International Services Team is scheduled to meet with us on Thursday, 9/6 during our meeting.
• Please read Executive Order 1-18: Policy on Use of Social Media: https://houstonlibrary.libguides.com/ld.php?content_id=42930458 Sign the sheet located in the workroom downstairs once you have done so. The deadline is the end of the month.
• There is a required webinar for a new database called Small Business Builder. Please sign the sheet located in the workroom downstairs after viewing the webinar. https://houstonlibrary.libguides.com/c.php?g=852808&p=6104220
• Looscan is going to be short-staffed on Saturdays. It is requested that Montrose staff help every other Saturday. That would be the Saturdays that Melissa, Alex, Doris and Tasha work. We will work out a rotation to help them.
• Montrose will be a polling place on August 25^th. Kandis and Eric will come in early (6:00am). Courtnie and Kay will stay late (possibly 8:00pm). We will adjust schedules as needed for the rest of that week.
• A reminder: lunch should be taken before we open of Fridays.
• We will be short staffed on Monday the 27^th. Eric has volunteered to come in for a full day. Kay has also volunteered to change one of her days to Monday. Thanks!
• Kay reminded us that the public can take the items on the Texas Travel display.
• Louis will be at Looscan beginning Saturday, 8/11.
• There will be no more computer classes or open job labs at Montrose. Customers should be directed to another location such as Central or Heights.
• Customers needing an excessive amount of help on the computer should either bring someone with them to help, or be directed to some other location such as Central or Heights for help. We no longer have enough staff to provide one-on-one service.
• Please clean up after yourself in the kitchen. Exploding food is being left in the microwave.
• If you take one of the newspapers to lunch, be sure to check it out like a customer does so that we know where it’s at.
• Please do not put book sale magazines on the shelves upstairs.
• We are partnering with Literacy in the Bag again this year. They have been made aware that the box was too big and no one ever came to pick it up last time. This year, if they arrive with the large pallet and box, we will not accept it.
• Courtnie updates:
• SRP prizes can be awarded until the end of August, or until we run out.
• The next Drag Queen Storytime will be out on the public floor, due to the large turnout.
• Camp Stream was a success. It was a little bumpy at the start, but everything went well and customers did not complain. And the kids enjoyed it!
