Montrose Meeting Notes - 5/10/2018

Here’s a re-cap of what we went over on Thursday’s meeting:

• An event called Cigna Sunday Streets will take place in Montrose on Sunday, May 20. HPL Communications Division is looking for volunteers. Let Melissa know if you are interested.
• Anna Toneva of Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) has been using the Montrose Conference room to hold her classes. RSM is a private business and charges the parents of the children tuition to attend. This is a violation of HPL policy.  RSM has a website and Facbook page. RSM may no longer use the Montrose Library facility. Do not let Ms. Toneva or any RSM representative book a room at Montrose. If they have questions direct them to Melissa. If she is not present, direct them to Courtnie.
• Melissa will be out when time cards are to be approved. Djuina will be the contact for them.
• Booksale items: Boardbooks are hardback, so therefore $1.00. Spiral books are considered paperback and are $.50.
• Items from other library systems should be forwarded to Central. Also, update the books from other systems list. The link in on the Montrose Blog.
• Digital Fluency assessments are due 5/20 (https://houstonlibrary.libguides.com/digital-fluency).  The sign-in sheet is located on the shelf where the employee holds are.  Please use it to mark off the assessments you have completed with at least an 85% rating. You do not need to send the certificates to HPL Training.
• Updates for Courtnie:
• Be sure to remove the white label from the Flip Kits prior to putting them back on the floor.
• Courtnie is expecting some HOLDS for MNT CIRC. Please put them on her desk.
• The Drag Queen Storytime for June 30^th will be a celebration. More on that to follow.
• The comic strip contest for CBC has been extended until the 11^th. If someone brings one in, please put it on her desk.
• SRP will be from June 1 – Aug 1. People may begin registering themselves on May 15^th. The prizes will be more limited this year.
• Camp Stream – Montrose is full. However, people can still register. During the event staff will be needed to help with: check-in and checkout of kids; drop off and pick up; and maybe serving food.
