Montrose Meeting Notes 7/13/2017

 

Here’s a re-cap of what we went over on Thursday’s meeting:

·         The MyLink online registration links have all been corrected, so we shouldn’t run into any more problems with people signing up using the wrong form.

·         Belinda Cox has asked that we send in a copy of the monthly delivery log.

·         Handouts from the manager’s meeting

o   FY18 Goals: Take note that we need to do more Linking to Us videos this year.  Let’s be as on top of it as we were last year!

o   FY18 A.C.E. – This explains some of our goals and service priorities in more detail.

o   Program Due Dates – This gives you an idea about how far in advance programs need to be scheduled in order to be publicized. 

·         International Services – There will be an ESL Class at Young on Friday, July 14^th. It’s called ‘Teaching English to Adult Learners.’ It’s probably too late for this class, however, staff who would like to, may attend it. There’s also going to be a Citizenship class called ‘Teaching Citizenship.’ It will be August 4^th at Young from 8:30am-11:00am. If you are interested, let me know so we can get you signed up for it.

·         Statistics – We are no longer counting holds (processed, pulled, delivery, etc.).  Starting now, we need to track questions about citizenship classes, ESL classes, and language learning.  We have a new statistics sheet, which I handed out. It will be added to our blog.

·         The Learning Link cards for HISD students are not supposed to expire.

·         Everyone should be present at the circulation counter at the end of the day. Also, everyone should be helping to close down the building whether it’s counting money, getting the copies off of the printer, door count, etc. This will be added to the schedule so we won’t forget to be proactive at closing time.

·         When a check is processed a separate batch receipt should be printed for it.

·         Courtnie went over some SRP updates:

o   Please don’t tell customers that you don’t know about prizes etc.  Apparently, a couple of branches were accused of this by customers. Courtnie has all the prize information on and around her desk area.

o   If people don’t want a particular prize, do not update their account. Just leave it as not awarded.

o   There are a lot of newcomers to the Montrose neighborhood which has shown a dramatic increase in Storytime attendance.

o   The SRP Dance Party will be on Tuesday at 3:30. Courtnie will need help from staff for this.

·         Djuina shared that a Branding Liaison is needed from each branch. Let me know if you are interested in doing this.
