Montrose Meeting Notes 3/10/16

 Here’s a re-cap of what we went over on Thursday’s meeting:

 

·       Reminder that new black sign holder is only supposed to be used for ‘Open Carry’ signage. It is to be used during school sponsored events and when the location is used as a polling place. 

·        Every branch received a ‘Friends’ stamp. This is to be used for books going to Friends. The ‘Discard’ stamp is to be used for actual discards. Remember to never stamp a yellow tagged book.

·       Everyone has taken the Lynda training. Courses provided through Lynda may be used toward training requirements. However, you need to have supervisor approval and it needs to be job appropriate.

·        Digital Strategies future upgrades include: new reservation system; new network, new print vendor, online registration, new phones, Windows 10 and doing away with computer cards. More on these as information becomes available.

·        Montrose is supposed to be next in line for getting RFID tagged. This means we’ll need to weed to get ready for it. Doris has ordered extra boxes. We may be getting help from other branches on Mondays.

·        No-one from other branches showed up to help weed on Monday.

·        Don’t send a Sprocket for lawn care. Email Karrington Burnett and CC Celeste Diaz.

·        Library card policy will change ASAP regarding the digital barcode that is already available through the HPL App.

·        There is a Customer Review Service Program that has been created to measure the success of the customer service training. Current HPL volunteers will be asked to report on branches.

·        Incident Reports:   They are now stressing that the reports be in 3^rd person. Also, remember to use the correct naming convention for the report file.

·        Mr. Williams complained to Customer Experience regarding the number of items he brings in. As a result, he believes that he can bring in the 3 items that the original incident report was written about.

·       There was discussion about several problem customers and incidents to be on the lookout for. In particular; Maria, the cleaning person, has said that people have been bathing in the men’s restroom. Staff will be alert to this problem and put a stop to it.
