Montrose Staff Meeting 2/11/16

Here’ s a re-cap of what we went over on Thursday’s meeting:

·         Printing for customers is to be done at the customer service desk as part of a reference question. Following is taken from the email that I sent on 2/8/23016:

o   Our response to any reference question is to help the person get what they need. If during the reference question, something needs to be printed, we will do it for them at no cost. We don’t do excessive printouts at the desk; however, we will do a reasonable amount (perhaps 7-10 pages max).

o   A customer requesting a tax form is basically a reference question.  As we have always done in the past, if a customer asks for a task form, we look it up for them and will print it for them at no cost. Also, two copies of a tax form is a reasonable request.  However, we do not print IRS publications because they are too long.

·         We will be getting juvenile books that will have a combination of English and Arabic. Chris Hu contacted me about our need for these and we both agreed that these would be useful for the ELS students.

·        Remember to use the counterfeit pens for any bill $5 and above. If you do come across a counterfeit bill, do not confront the individual.

·         Remember that if you are going to be absent, you must contact Melissa or Leonore verbally.

·         The Lynda training is to be completed by 3/4/16. Time will be allotted on your schedule for taking the course.

·         We have been made aware of more restrictions for the money allotted for LOO/MNT – We have been told that this money can only be used within business hours. We  will cater our next few LOO/MNT joint meetings.  The next one is March 7th

·         We are in the process of weeding/shifting in preparation for RFID tagging and interfiling paperbacks. The Collection HQ training will be next Friday (2/19) at Stella Link.

·         We will be getting a pizza party for our CMC participation. It will be in March. More to come…
